musings on all everythingness
Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim
We begin in the name of Allah, who is infinite mercy and endless compassion
the longing is real, don’t lose the longing
it doesn't mean you’ve got it wrong
you can't be everything at once, don’t try.
perfect your path, the one you’re on, the one that calls
one facet of the all-encompassing all everythingness
without you WE wouldn’t be well-rounded
so follow any path to perfection—power, beauty, forgiveness, expansion
subtle and refined, taking no shit.
it’s okay you can't be everywhere at once, every way at once
sometimes sweet solitude
sometimes camaraderie, connections
if I’m falling out of love, you’re falling into love
another facet of me sparkling in that giddy timeless space
when I’m at the bluffs, solo sunset mish—
my incense, my tea and my poems
picnics dogs cute people swell and whirl around me merry
my heart smiles. just yesterday I sat with friends and the best spread, celebrating
so I am you and you are me
ebbs and flows
courageous lovers of love
and back to longing—
it means something
why can't your desires be part of god’s plan?
you cannot fuck it up.
ask for what you really want
be active, and humble.
jealousy is nothing
collaboration is everything
soften your shoulders
PROTECT CREATION
revere your friendships
sing your heart
hold yourself close
here til you’re not
til something softer, something wider
(breathe easy)
imagine all the pain and all pleasure, waves
on a very deep ocean which you are
differently put, you’re made of the same stuff as the punches
so let’s roll, welcoming mishaps
instead of bumping into them, surprised and uncomfortable
make and remake your plans.

(may this be a balm when you feel like you aren't doing enough, quickly enough, to unfold your soul and its gifts to the world)
